It’s been almost a year and half since we were married (14 months but who’s counting) on March 27, 2010. It’s about time for a recap, eh? I’m going to break down the recap into two parts- the details and my favorite photos taken of us as a couple. All images are from our photographer, Joe Elario Photography, who I highly recommend if you are in the capital district area. They are costly but the images are worth it and last a life time!
Our ceremony was at 5:30 P.M at St. Mary’s Church in Ballston Spa. Because good light could be an issue after the ceremony at that time of year, we decided to do a “first look”, where we see each other before the ceremony and take photos to capture even more of the day. I highly recommend a first look- it didn’t take away from seeing each other at the church and we got some great photos and memories out of it!
We decided on Congress Park as our first look location- we were having the reception at the historic Canfield Casino located within the park and it just seemed right. Our attendants lined up and the photographers placed Brian so that his back was to me.
I was so excited walking up to him. It was cold, so I wore my faux fur white shoulder wrap that I purchased at Lily Saratoga.
So fun!
So what do you think?

I love this photo and the details that it captures.
At this point it was time for some portraits!
My photographer has all of his brides use this pose- prior to actually posing for it myself, I didn’t realize that he had the bride squat down- good thing I was in decent shape
Strolling along.
This is one of my favorite photos- we used it for our thank you cards!
There’s a fountain in Congress Park that is always nice to get photos in front of (no matter that it wasn’t filled
)
My handsome groom!
You may kiss the bride!
From another angle-
SO happy and excited!
Outside of the church.
I love the lighting in this photo- good stuff!
Back to Congress Park for some photos before the reception.
Another one of my absolute faves.
We made our way to the reception and soon it was time to be introduced as husband and wife. Brian had some elaborate move planned where he would twirl me and it would be all graceful like. Of course, I went the wrong way and ruined it
First dance- to Josh Turner’s Soulmate
Right before the festivities began!
Brian looks a little hot under the collar, eh? His best man gave a hilarious speech.
Cutting the cake (with his sword- so fun!)
Sidenote- isn’t the ceiling at the Casino gorgeous? It’s what sold me on the place!
Question- which photo should we select to put on a large matte canvas? I can’t decide!

I love all of these photos! They are gorgeous. I definitely think my favorites are of the pictures from Congress Park after the ceremony. The lighting looks perfect.
Aw thank you! I have to agree, I think am leaning towards one of those photos!
My favs are the black & White’s – love the one of you two strolling hand in hand …. they are all beautiful -
Oh katie I just love all your photos!! They are so pretty – you two are such a cute couple! Do you have any photos of just your hair with out your veil!? I love the way you did your hair and need a photo to take to my hair trail!
Aw, thank you! I FORGOT to take my veil off during the reception so every photo is with my veil. I do have photos with no veil from when I had my hair trial before the wedding- I can email them to you if you’d like!
yes please!! Thank you so much! I really appreciate it!
Okay, they’re on my laptop at home- be on the lookout in the next day or two!
These pictures are absolutely BEAUTIFUL! I loved looking at all of them. You looked amazing and the joy is so evident.
ummm hello hard decision!! I vote 0629 I think that one would look really nice on canvas material. I just ordered a canvas pic of my daughter last night. Great minds think alike
I think that may be my top vote- I just have to convince Brian!
I love the photo of your daughter you emailed yesterday- she is so so adorable!
Aw, thank you
So beautiful! I like the second to last picture (black and white) and the one where he picked you up! I think both would be beautiful large and mounted!
I like this one for the large mat canvas – http://legallyfitblog.com/wp-content/uploads/2011/07/KatieBrian_0695.jpg. But they are truly all great! Your photog was wonderful! We loved ours too! It’s worth it to splurge. We did a first look as well.
Gorgeous lady! I remember first stalking your blog waiting for these photos way back when. Just as fabulous today. Time flies right? I can’t believe I’m coming up on three years of marriage this October!!
Your wedding was absolutely beautiful! The pictures are incredible
I love the one of you two holding hands and looking at each other with the sun coming in behind you- definitely print worthy!
